About the DISCOVER-ME project.
ME/CFS is a chronic, severely debilitating multisystemic condition estimated to affect up to 70 million people worldwide, yet it is still diagnosed on clinical criteria alone, with no validated biomarkers available. DISCOVER-ME aims to establish the biological foundations for improved, subgroup-specific diagnostics and for the development of targeted treatment strategies. The consortium brings together leading European and international research institutions, including Imperial College London, Uppsala University, the University of Galway, and the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), alongside several specialised European biobanks. The proposal was also supported by InvestinME Research. The project is scheduled to run for four years.
