Reactional Music, a Swedish deep tech company secures a €2.5 million grant from the European Innovation Council
Reactional Music, a Swedish deep tech company pioneering programmable, interactive, and rights-compliant music infrastructure for games and interactive media, has been awarded a €2.5 million grant from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator under the Horizon Europe programme.
Alongside the grant, the EIC has also allocated up to €6.5 million in future equity to match incoming capital in this co-investment opportunity for accelerating the commercial scale-up of Reactional’s breakthrough platform.
Reactional Music is developing a new infrastructure layer that enables commercial music to become interactive, adaptive, and monetisable inside games. Its patented technology allows music to respond to gameplay in real time, while integrating automated rights management, royalty reporting, and in-game monetisation.
The awarded project will support Reactional in moving from validated technology to large-scale commercial deployment. The EIC funding will enable the company to further optimise its SDKs for Unity and Unreal, scale its rights and royalty infrastructure, validate the platform with leading game developers, and establish music as a new monetisation layer within the global gaming economy.
Jesper Nordin, Founder of Reactional Music: “For most of the history of games, music has been treated as something fixed: a recording placed on top of gameplay. Reactional changes that. We have built technology that allows music to become part of the game system itself - responsive, playable and commercially usable without breaking the integrity of the original work. EIC support gives us the opportunity to bring this vision into the hands of developers, artists and players at scale.”
Tomas Jenneborg, CEO of Reactional Music: “The next frontier in gaming is not only better graphics or bigger worlds, but deeper personalisation. Music is one of the strongest forms of personal identity, yet it has remained largely disconnected from game monetisation. With Reactional, we can open a new category where players, developers and rights holders all benefit from music becoming interactive content.”
Tomasz Wąsik, MBA, CEO of GAEU Consulting Horizon Europe Centre of Excellence: “Reactional Music is a rare example of a company addressing a genuine infrastructure gap between two global industries: gaming and music. The company combines patented technology, strong commercial ambition and clear European strategic relevance. We are delighted to have supported the team in securing EIC Accelerator funding for such a bold and market-creating project.
With this award, Reactional Music joins the group of European deep tech champions backed by the EIC - and takes a major step toward defining the global standard for interactive, rights-cleared music in games and beyond.
