GAEU supports Inossia in securing 7.3 MEUR from EIC Accelerator

GAEU Consulting is pleased to announce another success story within the EIC Accelerator of Horizon Europe. Our client, Inossia, has been awarded €7.3 million within the Blended Finance scheme of the EIC Accelerator (€2.3 million in grant funding and €5 million in equity) to clinically validate two new bone cements using the Inossia® Cement Softener: V-Flex for spinal fractures and Elastoment for degenerated discs.

The Inossia® Cement Softener is a smart ingredient that can be added to any bone cement, making it much softer. This patented deep-tech innovation has a range of potential applications. By softening existing bone cements, this innovation transforms them into more efficient and safer products, while also opening up new markets and indications, such as degenerated discs.

Tomasz Wąsik, MBA, CEO GAEU Consulting Horizon Europe Centre of Excellence, comments: “We are proud to have been entrusted with supporting a project that can have a transformative effect on the entire market for bone cements and change the lives of millions of patients worldwide. Our team has once again demonstrated its extensive knowledge of deep tech life science innovations. We would like to express our gratitude to the entire Inossia team for their great cooperation in this exciting journey towards the EIC grant.”

Malin Nilsson, CEO Inossia comments: “Inossia is extremely grateful for the professional help and support that we received from GAEU Consulting to create our application and prepare us for the interview. It is a delicate process which requires large experience and good insight in how these applications are evaluated. The GAEU team masters the EIC Accelerator process and has carried Inossia through all steps with a lot of patience and a few laughter. We could not have wished for better support!”

Following the first 2023 EIC Accelerator cut-off in January, 159 companies were interviewed by juries of experienced investors and entrepreneurs, out of a total of 476 applications. The 32 selected companies will together receive close to €196 million of funding in a combination of grants and equity investments.
