Polbionica receives €2.5M from the FENG Seal of Excellence EIC Accelerator funding program in Poland

POLBIONICA secures €2.5 Million FENG Seal of Excellence EIC Accelerator Funding for Bionic Pancreas Development.

We are thrilled to announce that our client, POLBIONICA, has been awarded €2.5 million through Poland’s FENG Seal of Excellence EIC Accelerator funding program. This funding supports pioneering projects that have earned the Seal of Excellence from European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA).

The grant will accelerate the clinical development of their groundbreaking project: a fully functional, bioprinted bionic pancreas made from living cells, capable of producing both insulin and glucagon. Among the applications received, only two projects were recommended for funding by the National Centre for Research and Development, underscoring the visionary nature of Polbionica’s work.

Tomasz Wąsik, MBA comments: “We are honoured to support this groundbreaking project, which has the potential to transform the landscape of type 1 diabetes treatment. The Seal of Excellence is a clear indication of the quality and innovation of such projects, and it’s crucial that they receive the necessary funding to move forward. Many exceptional projects go unfunded due to budget limitations within the EIC Accelerator scheme, so we are pleased to see that The National Centre for Research and Development in Poland continues to step up, regularly allocating resources to help Polish start-ups in their pursuit of EIC Accelerator funding. My thanks to the entire Polbionica team for their trust in GAEU Consulting and to my team for their persistence and commitment—this success is truly a shared achievement!”
